“ 5 Stars I had the pork buns and samgyetang (Korean chicken soup) and they were soooo delicious! The flavors were rich, comforting, and just hit the spot. Big shoutout to Eunice :) she was super nice and friendly, and took the time to explain the menu to me. Thanks to her, I picked those two dishes and I’m so glad I did! If you’re looking for a cozy and authentic Korean restaurant in Astoria, Queens, you definitely need to try KAL. Highly recommend! ”
“ KAL is a Korean restaurant here in Astoria and honestly it’s so worth coming back to!!! I hadn’t been in a while but the food is still as delicious as ever. Today, I had the mackerel and the crunch tofu, and wow!!!!! both were sooooooo good The mackerel was perfectly cooked and boneless (yes, boneless!), which made it so easy and enjoyable to eat. The crunch tofu was a standout!!! crispy and spicy on the outside, but soft and silky on the inside. The texture was perfect and balanced everything out so well. Totally hit the spot especially since I was craving something pescatarian and vegetarian for lunch Woo and the owner took care of me today and they were incredibly friendly really made me feel welcome. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving flavorful, comforting Korean food! If you’re in Astoria, Queens and looking for a go-to Korean spot, this is it!!! ”
“ I had a wonderful time at this cozy Korean restaurant. The food portions were just right, and the staff provided exceptional service. Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience! ”
“ Great authentic Korean food. The inside is small but comfortable. The service was really good. The waiter was really handsome. I got the cold noodles that I somehow forgot to take a picture of. It was really good. I definitely recommend this place. ”
“ Beautiful experience at this tasty Korean rest. Small place that packs an amazing flavor. We had the bulgogi stew, KFC and short ribs, all of this while smashing a few somaek. They only had one server and she was on top of everything, deliveries, phone, bussing, serving, etc... What a machine! She was amazing just to watch and gave us amazing service. Prices are great, so remember, tip your servers I'm coming back with a group of friends next week so we can taste more of this amazing menu. ”
“ This is a small place but you won't regret it. They have indoor and outdoor dining. If you pay cash I believe there's a discount. The service was GREAT!!! Woo was so attentive and welcoming!!! The menu has great options! The food has so much flavor and it's a great portion. You will definitely come out full. So happy I found this place. We loved everything we got. ”
“ This is just the cutest little spot I've ever seen with some of the best Korean food I've ever had, just kind of stumbled upon it walking in Astoria and boy am I glad I did, everything was phenomenal and this is probably the best spicy rice cakes I've ever had and I've had a lot, can't recommend enough probably my favorite food I had during my trip to NYC. ”
“ We just love it here. The most wholesome delicious food and amazing folks who run it. Very unassuming casual low key place, excellent service, comforting meals. Some of our favorites: crunch tofu appetizer, ssam, scallion pancakes appetizer, bibimbap with tofu, and soy bean paste stew/soup. Must visit - I’d be remiss if I did not write a review. ”
